COPENMIND has in recent months received the support of universities from all over the world.
In Japan, the main factors attracting the interest of universities included: the opportunity for international promotion of universities, networking with industry players, and the focus on cleantech as an important emerging research area. President of Tokai University Educational System, Dr. Tatsuro Matsumae, stated his support as follows:
“Tokai University wholeheartedly endorses the theme of COPENMIND 2008, clean technology, as it is consistent with our university’s strong research tradition in the fields of remote sensing technology, global environmental observation, and R&D of clean solar, wind and hydrogen energy.”

Professor Philippe Vincke, President of Université Libre de Bruxelles, cited the solution-based approach of COPENMIND in his support of the focus on cleantech:
“The world is facing an environmental crisis and innovative technical solutions are one of the ways forward. Therefore, Université Libre de Bruxelles strongly supports COPENMIND and we look forward to participate in the event in Copenhagen in September 2008.”
Finally, President Gu Binglin of Tsinghua University, the leading university in China according to many international rankings, expressed his support of COPENMIND’s emphasis on technology transfer as a core university strategy for the future:
“Congratulations to the first COPENMIND, which builds the university-industry communication platform, and promotes cooperative win-win prospects for all parties.”
