  • Leading thematic speakers confirm their participation at the COPENMIND Conference

COPENMIND is pleased to announce that four named speakers have accepted the invitation to participate at the COPENMIND Conference by hosting a conference seminar.

Managing Director of ISWA (International Solid Waste Association), Gregory Vogt, will address his audience on the question: “How can cleantech contribute to decoupling solid waste generation from economic development?” This falls into ISWA’s, an international, independent and non-profit making association, objective of working in the public interest to promote and develop sustainable waste management worldwide.

Jacqueline McGlade is the Executive Director of EEA (European Environment Agency), which aims to support sustainable development and help achieve significant and measurable improvement in Europe’s environment through the provision of timely, targeted, relevant and reliable information to policy making agents and the public. She will also speak at the COPENMIND Conference.

In his role as Senior Director of Siemens AG ‘Corporate University Liaison’, Mr Uwe Hermann will talk about “The practitioner’s view from the inside: university collaborations seen from the industry perspective”. In his speech he will take an inside view of global university liaison programmes as seen and organised by the corporate headquarters of a large, global player, one of the world’s biggest “integrated technology companies”.

Last, but not least, Nicolas Parker, Chairman and Managing Partner of the Cleantech Group™, LLC, will address the audience at COPENMIND with a keynote speech. Introducing in 2002 the “cleantech” concept to the investment and business community, Nicolas Parker is a leading authority in the area, and will provide a venture capitalist’s perspective of cleantech, cleantech investment and future trends.

UNEP (the United Nations Environment Programme) has also agreed to participate at the COPENMIND Conference and to commit keynote speakers for the event. UNEP provides leadership and encourages collaboration in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing and enabling nations and people to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations.

The COPENMIND Conference will run alongside the COPENMIND Exhibition for three days, during which a wide variety of presentations, seminars and workshops on the COPENMIND 2008 cleantech theme will be held.
