On 17 to 19 October 2007, COPENMIND sponsored and took part in the annual autumn seminar of ASTP* (Association of European Science and Technology Transfer Professionals) in Venice, Italy. Under the headline of “Industry meets Academia”, technology transfer professionals from all over Europe spent three days exchanging ideas and expertise, strengthening their network and sharing best practice in relation to technology transfer, patenting and licensing.
COPENMIND supports ASTP’s mission of “professionalising and promoting technology and knowledge transfer between the European science base and industry.” Therefore, COPENMIND has engaged in a constructive dialogue with ASTP as to how to achieve these goals. Furthermore, COPENMIND has set out to expand this mission to a global level at the annual conference held in Copenhagen.
In a world of widely distributed knowledge, no organisation, be it company or university, can afford to rely entirely on its own research. COPENMIND sets out to expand the horizons of universities, research institutions and business on a global level, bringing all stakeholders closer to the research frontier and engaging them in innovative efforts to the common good of global society.
