  • Cleantech Group takes actively part in COPENMIND 2008

In May, COPENMIND initiated a partnership with another highly influential cleantech organisation, namely the Cleantech Group.

Formerly known as the Cleantech Venture Network, which defined and introduced cleantech as an investment category in 2002, the Cleantech Group now offers a series of services which are helping transform cleantech from a niche category into one of today’s most significant business opportunities.

All activities share a common mission: to provide insight, business opportunities and relationships that catalyze the growth of cleantech markets globally.

Cleantech Group is a membership organisation of 8,000 qualified cleantech investors, 9,500 companies and professional services organisations worldwide and a core group of 1,300 elite members with assets exceeding $6 trillion. Cleantech Group represents venture capital firms, investment banks, limited partners, governments and major corporations via offices in North America, Europe, China and India.

Cleantech Group will be present at COPENMIND, and will contribute to the conference through a keynote speech performed by Nicholas Parker, co-founder of Cleantech Group. Furthermore, Cleantech Group will host a conference session concerning the Cleantech Accelerator project – a unique collaboration with Wal-mart to screen early to late stage technology companies for increasing sustainability in its 4,000 facilities. Cleantech Group is also a part of the COPENMIND Scientific Board, which evaluates contributions from universities and research institutes to the conference programme.
