ABOUT THE ROYAL AWARDS
The Royal Awards for Sustainability was initiated in 1996 by the European Environment Agency with the purpose to promote sustainable development by rewarding excellent performance and best practice. Over the years awards have been granted in different areas such as Urban Innovation, Responsible Investments, Green Food, and Sustainable Tourism. The Royal Awards are protected by HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and HRH Crown Prince Felipe of Spain.
